Formed in 1992, Arckanum quickly gained recognition in the underground for its raw sound, occult themes, and deeply atmospheric approach, helping shape a distinct identity within the Scandinavian black metal scene. This collection features both 'Demo ’93' and 'Trulen', tracing the project’s evolution from primitive beginnings to the formation of its signature style. 'Demo ’93' delivers a rough, rehearsal-recorded sound rooted in both death and black metal, driven by raw energy and early experimentation. In contrast, 'Trulen' marks a significant creative leap, introducing the hypnotic riffs, ritualistic atmosphere, and Old Swedish lyrics that would define Arckanum’s classic era. Remastered from the original tapes by Patrick W. Engel (Temple of Disharmony), this release restores these rare recordings with enhanced clarity while preserving their authentic underground spirit.
