Defying convention since their mid-1990s formation, avant-Metal breakcore pioneers BONG-RA arrive in monolithic style with the cold Industrialised wallop of new album "Black Noise". BONG-RA are the central project from Jason Köhnen (THE LOVECRAFT SEXTET, THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE, CELESTIAL SEASON), who over the past 25 years has used the alias to craft a diverse body of consistently challenging experimental work as one of the primary acts to meld underground Metal with electronics.
BONG-RA has always been deeply rooted in and possessed of the same energy, rawness and rebellion as Metal and Grindcore. "Black Noise" finds Köhnen returning to the fuck-you extremity of his heritage: blending visceral and weighty stabs of guitar with mechanical electronics, interweaving polyrhythmic relentlessness with grim-faced, steely-eyed Industrial Metal heft - the nervous psychopathy of breakcore bubbling at the edges to boil over in cascades of propulsive energy.
