Formed in 1989 after Johnny Hedlund's departure from NIHILIST (a band that later reformed as Entombed), Unleashed quickly became one of the pioneers of death metal, standing out for their focus on Viking and Scandinavian mythology, rather than the typical death and gore themes. This distinctive approach set the band apart and established them as one of the leaders in the Scandinavian death metal scene. 'Before The Creation of Time' compiles the band's earliest recordings, demos & 7" songs, showcasing the raw power that led to their iconic 1991 debut, 'Where No Life Dwells'. This collection includes the three tracks from 'The Utter Dark', three tracks from 'Revenge', and the full 'Bielefeld' recording session, which features seven tracks. The 'Bielefeld' session includes material from their 'And The Laughter Has Died...' 7" EP, the Century Media Promo Tape, and tracks from the 'In The Eyes of Death' compilation. Alongside the music, this release also features an exclusive, in-depth interview with Johnny Hedlund, offering a personal look at the band's origins and their influence on the death metal genre. All the tracks have been carefully restored and remastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony, ensuring the highest quality sound for both new listeners and diehard fans alike.
