Czech avant-garde black metal force Inferno return with their ninth full-length, 'The Anthropic Sophisms (On The Heights Of Despair)', a dense and hypnotic descent into cosmic darkness, psychological disorientation and existential unease. Building unsettling atmosphere, Inferno combine avant-garde black metal, industrial textures, electronics, hypnotic motorik rhythms and abrasive guitar work into a vast, immersive soundscape. Riffs pulse and mutate beneath obscure vocals, crackling electronics and layers of oppressive atmosphere, creating music that feels less like a conventional narrative and more like an encounter with forces beyond human comprehension. The album rejects an anthropocentric worldview, positioning humanity not as the centre of existence but as a fleeting observer within an incomprehensible cosmos. Intense, experimental and relentlessly atmospheric, 'The Anthropic Sophisms' is a challenging work of dark and avant-garde extreme metal that offers neither resolution nor consolation.
